Conveniently located in the Crist Center, Academic Support Services will assist a student’s efforts in successful completion of educational goals by providing a variety of free services to all Carl Sandburg College students. These services include the following:

All tutoring services are FREE to CSC students. Students who seek to gain a greater understanding of course material in general or want help with a particular assignment are encouraged to come in and make use of our services.

 

Additionally, students who are struggling to keep up with a course or with college in general will find great value in our services. Student’s who fall into this category should seek assistance as early as possible, since our services are most effective when the need first arises.

 

The Tutoring Center:

Formerly known as the Math and Writing Lab, our Tutoring Center has grown from its humble, focused roots to offer tutoring in a wide range of subjects. Make sure to check our tutoring schedule to get a more complete listing of the subjects we cover and the times we have available as both are subject to change from semester to semester.

 

Online Tutoring:

Tutoring in English, Math, Science and American History is also available online via Tutor.com. Tutor.com uses a simple interface combining chat and virtual whiteboard technology to assist students in real-time at any time, 24/7. Assistance in accounting, economics, and finance are is also available from 3 p.m. to midnight every day. Get started now!

 

Intensive Tutoring:

Intensive Tutoring is a tutoring option available to any students wishing for assistance beyond that offered at the Tutoring Center or who are unable to utilize the Tutoring Center. It is a more structured tutoring option; a student or a group of students will meet up to twice a week with an assigned tutor to work on the specified subject. Appointments are approved based on student need, availability of funds, and availability of qualified tutors.
