Seeking Officers for 2015-2016!

Student Government Association (SGA) is seeking new officers for 2015-2016! Officers needed include President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. SGA is a great way to expand your leadership skills and build upon your college experience! Interested students may contact Genny Stevens, SGA advisor, for questions or to learn how to become a candidate. Students wishing to run for office must complete an application and submit it by Monday, September 14, 2015 to Genny Stevens. Not sure you want to be an officer? Join as a Student Representative!

Students may join SGA as a student representative if they do not wish to run for office and still want to be involved. Student representatives serve as a voting member of SGA and as a voice for the Sandburg student community. Up to 15 students may serve as a representative. Interested students may fill out the Student Representative Application below and submit it to Genny Stevens, SGA advisor, by Friday, September 18, 2015. SGA Executive Board will review the applications and select 15 students to serve in SGA. SGA Advisor can be contacted at 309.341.5332 or or Office B 56.

About SGA

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the officially recognized student governance body for Carl Sandburg College. SGA is composed of no more than 15 elected representatives and five executive officers. Elections are held each fall. SGA serves as a liaison between the student body and the College, governs student organizations, and assists with Office of Student Life events.


SGA meeting dates and times are determined at the beginning of each semester. See the current semester meeting date and time below. All students are encouraged to attend to discuss current campus issues, upcoming student events and student leadership opportunities. Guest speakers, including faculty/staff, are welcome to attend upon invitation by an SGA member. Can't make a meeting but would like to talk with SGA member about your idea or issue?
