KEWANEE—Sophomore guard Seth Wickert (Macomb, Ill./Macomb) scored a team-leading 15 points and the Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team earned a 68-60 Arrowhead Conference victory at Black Hawk East on Thursday.

Freshman forward Aaron Powers (Springfield, Ill./Lanphier) scored 14 and sophomore guard Zach Grover (Macomb, Ill./Macomb) added 10 points for the Chargers (12-6, 3-1), who led 36-32 at halftime. Sandburg has won three of its last four games and six of its last eight.

“Tonight was a good road win,” Chargers coach Ryan Twaddle said. “We had one of those nights were the ball just didn’t want to go in the basket. Anytime you don’t make shots and still find a way to win a conference game on the road, it’s a positive step.”

Sandburg hosts Monmouth JV at 7:30 p.m. Monday at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.
