DIXON—The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team ended the regular season with a 58-37 Arrowhead Conference loss at Sauk Valley on Saturday.

The Skyhawks led 34-18 at halftime and went on to clinch a share of the conference championship. The Chargers (12-13, 5-6), who had won four of their previous six games, cut their deficit to as little as 11 in the second half.

Sophomore forward Marysa Remick (Victoria, Ill./ROWVA) had a team-best 12 points for the Chargers.

“We played hard the whole game but it was another night where we had little offensive punch,” Chargers coach Mike Bailey said. “Some nights we score and some nights we don’t, and tonight was a poor offensive performance.”

Sandburg will open Region IV tournament play at 6 p.m. Thursday when it hosts Elgin at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.
