Sandburg Presents ‘Urinetown’ Nov. 22-23 at Orpheum Theatre

GALESBURG—Carl Sandburg College presents a production of the Tony Award-winning musical “Urinetown,” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 22 as well as 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at the historic Orpheum Theatre, 57 S. Kellogg St., Galesburg.

“Urinetown” is a satire about a town where water is scarce and it’s a paid privilege to use the facilities. Written by Mark Hollman and Greg Kotis, the musical is an examination of the relationship between government, big business, the working poor and the human spirit. The show won Tony Awards in 2002 for Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score and Best Direction of a Musical.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students. Admission is free for Sandburg students who present their College ID. Tickets are available through the Orpheum Theatre box office at 250 E. Main St. from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., by phone at 309.342.2299 or online at
