Sandburg Moves to New Technology for Job Applications

GALESBURG—Carl Sandburg College has launched a new software system to improve the hiring process for job seekers and personnel managers. Job seekers are able to quickly apply online to numerous positions currently open via Interested candidates can apply for current vacancies or sign up for new openings that become available.

Sandburg has partnered with NEOGOV, the nation’s largest cloud software for HR in government and education. Using this technology, HR and department managers can access online records to expedite the hiring process when selecting new employees.

“This is a sustainability initiative and really streamlines the hiring process,” said Connie Thurman, dean of human resources/organizational development. “NEOGOV is a very data-driven process, which is in alignment with the College’s strategic management.”

The new software eases the job search and application process for job seekers, allowing them to submit one application for multiple job openings.

The new system also allows hiring managers to more effectively create minimum qualifications to sort through a pool of applicants. With the new system, administrative work and technical maintenance costs are reduced as this workload is handled by the NEOGOV system.

“We look forward to saving more time and money for personnel managers and make job searches easier for everyone,” NEOGOV CEO Damir Davidovic said. “NEOGOV solutions will facilitate another strong and effective workforce.”

Sandburg now joins more than 1,000 organizations across the nation that have moved into cutting-edge online technology for personnel management.
