KANKAKEE—Freshmen Lawson Crider and Brandyn Murray teamed up on both goals for the Carl Sandburg College men’s soccer team in Saturday’s 2-1 Region IV Champions Division victory at Kankakee.

Murray found Crider in the 11th minute to get the Chargers (10-3, 5-1) on the board. Crider then returned the favor in the 27th minute, feeding Murray for what proved to be the game-winning goal.

The game was delayed for an hour in the second half because of lightning in the area. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Chargers, who have now won nine of their last 10 contests.

Sandburg’s next match is against Western Illinois Club at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kleine Equipment Field. The Chargers close division play at 1 p.m. Oct. 12 at home against Richard J. Daley.
