KEWANEE—The Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team held on to beat Black Hawk East 61-58 on Saturday afternoon in Arrowhead Conference actions.

The Chargers (13-10, 3-4) ended a three-game losing streak with the victory. Sandburg took a 27-24 lead into halftime and avenged a 79-72 loss to the Warriors earlier this season.

The Chargers held the Warriors to just 15-of-55 shooting (27.3 percent). Saeed Soulemane led Black Hawk East with 14 points.

Sandburg will go for its second straight conference victory when it faces Illinois Valley at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.
