Chargers’ Godfrey Selected to All-Arrowhead Team

GALESBURG—Carl Sandburg College volleyball player Caitlyn Godfrey has been named to the All-Arrowhead Conference team for the second straight season.


Godfrey, a 6-foot middle hitter from Princeville, led the Chargers this season with 393 kills and 70 solo blocks. She also finished with team highs in kills per set, attack attempts and aces. She was second on the Chargers in attack percentage and fourth in digs.


Godfrey was named to the All-Region IV team earlier this week. She also earned All-Arrowhead Conference and All-Region IV tournament honors as a freshman last season, when she averaged 1.76 kills per set.


Kishwaukee sophomore Janelle Gerds was named the conference’s Most Valuable Player, and Kougars coach Stephanie Gooden was named Coach of Year after leading Kishwaukee to a 12-0 conference record.


Rosie Aumann (freshman, Kishwaukee), Courtney Blair (freshman, Highland), Hailee Brayton (sophomore, Illinois Valley), Katelyn Hasken (sophomore, Highland), MacKenzie Johnson (sophomore, Kishwaukee), Courtney Lawson (sophomore, Highland), Kayla MacDavitt (freshman, Illinois Valley), Kalli Scheppers (freshman, Sauk Valley), Kayla Wadell (sophomore, Kishwaukee) and Kelly Wallace (sophomore, Black Hawk) joined Godfrey on the all-conference team.
