EUREKA—Four Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball players scored in double figures as the Chargers won 78-54 at Eureka JV on Monday night.

Freshman forward Jeremy Brown (Chillicothe, Ill./Illinois Valley Central), freshman forward Javauntae Hicks (Rockford, Ill./Auburn), freshman forward Mitch Wendling (Athens, Ill./Athens) and sophomore guard Seth Wickert (Macomb, Ill./Macomb) each scored 10 points to pace the Chargers. Freshman guard Matt Sagona (Knoxville, Ill./Knoxville) added nine points for Sandburg.

“It was good to see us bounce back a little tonight,” said Chargers coach Ryan Twaddle, whose team lost Sunday at Monmouth JV. “It was great to have another balanced scoring attack and be able to get a lot of kids some good minutes. Eric Happ played his best game of the season tonight. He was very active on the glass and moving without the basketball.”

Sandburg plays at 7 p.m. Thursday at Southeastern before hosting Clinton at 3 p.m. Saturday at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.
