GALESBURG—Six runners have signed to compete for the Carl Sandburg College cross country teams this fall.

Bayleigh Harrison of Knoxville high School, Chrissy Kokjohn of Clinton (Iowa) Prince of Peace High School, Marisa Miller of Galesburg High School and Tessa Vowels of St. Joseph-Ogden High School have signed to run for the Chargers women’s cross country team.

Harrison was a Class 1A sectional qualifier in all four of her seasons with the Blue Bullets, and Kokjohn competed in cross country and track and field as a junior and senior at Prince of Peace. Miller ran for the Silver Streaks during her junior and senior years at Galesburg and was the Streaks’ second finisher at the 2011 Class 2A regional. She also competed for Galesburg’s girls basketball and track and field teams. Vowels helped the Spartans finish third at the 2010 Class 1A state cross country meet.

Jon Peterson of Galesburg High School and Rimi Black of Rockridge High School have signed to run for the Chargers men’s cross country team this fall.

Peterson, in his first season running for the Silver Streaks boys track and field team, competed in the 1,600-meter run and on the team’s 4x800 relay this past spring. Black, a member of the Rockets cross country and track and field teams, qualified for the Class 1A cross country sectional last fall.
