20th Annual Young Pianists Competition Winners Announced

GALESBURG—Winners have been announced for the 20th annual Knox-Galesburg Symphony Young Pianists Competition, which took place April 6 in Building F on Carl Sandburg College’s Main Campus in Galesburg.

Winners from the competition were: Maximilian Martinez (Galesburg), Joshua Hutchings (Galesburg), Christopher Pamatmat (Galesburg), Maya Gomez (Galesburg), Lucas Shroyer (Galesburg), David Sudhakar (Galesburg), A.J. Pamatmat (Galesburg) and Ashleigh Nutzhorn (Altona).

The following contestants received honorable mention: Adrianne Fernando (Galesburg), Eddie Solberg-Hale (Galesburg), Katie Jackson (Galesburg), Natalie Ann Nelson (Rio) and Jordan Shroyer (Galesburg).

Winners from the competition will perform on the 9-foot Steinway concert piano, underwritten by Carl Sandburg College, at 10 a.m. April 27 at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Galesburg as part of the Music Mornings program. The Knox-Galesburg Symphony will host a public recital for all winners and honorable mentions at 3 p.m. May 5 in Kresge Recital Hall at Knox College.
