Mike Bailey is entering his seventh year as head women's basketball coach at Carl Sandburg College. He has 15 total years of coaching experience at Sandburg as he also coached men's basketball and baseball. He is from Oelwein, Iowa, and holds degrees from North Iowa Area Community College and the University of Northern Iowa. His coaching stops include BC Wetzikon in Wetzikon, Switzerland, Northern Iowa under Eldon Miller, and Southeastern Community College under Jim Wyatt. Coach Bailey and his wife, Kelly, reside in Galesburg and have two children, Steele and Skyler.
Katie King is entering her fourth season as an assistant women's basketball coach for Carl Sandburg. King is a graduate of Carl Sandburg College and earned two letters in both basketball and softball. In the 2008-09 season, King was named to the Arrowhead Conference All-Conference Team for her efforts on the softball field and she was named an NJCAA Academic All-American. King lives in Henderson with her husband, Justin.
Megan Schmidt is in her first season as an assistant women's basketball coach for Sandburg. Schmidt played for the Chargers from 2008-2010 and was named an NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American in both of her seasons at Sandburg. She earned an associate in arts from Sandburg in 2009 and a certificate in graphic design in 2010. Schmidt then transferred to Southeast Missouri State, where she graduated in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in sports management. She currently works as an environmental health specialist for the Knox County Health Department.
