ELGIN—The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team was unable to extend its winning streak to three games following a 63-49 loss on Saturday in a nonconference game at Elgin.

GALESBURG—Carl Sandburg College is seeking enthusiastic and creative instructors to teach classes for the 11th annual Carl Sandburg College Kids on Campus in August. The event attracts hundreds of students each year from across the district and offers classes in a variety of subjects to children in grades K-6. GALESBURG—Carl Sandburg College has hired three employees following approval by the Board of Trustees at its regular monthly meeting held in December. Steven L. Sager was hired as director of business and community education, and Kipton J. Canfield was hired as director of public safety. Mary Pence also was hired as a full-time nursing instructor. GALESBURG—Rushville-Industry High School senior Kattie Haywood has signed to play next season for the Carl Sandburg College volleyball team.
Haywood, a 5-foot-8 middle hitter/outside hitter, had 124 kills, 151 digs, 37 aces and 16 blocks for the Rockets this past season. She also was an all-Prairieland Conference honorable mention selection.

GALESBURG—Carl Sandburg College has released the names of students who qualified for the dean’s list and honors list for the 2012 fall semester.
To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours) and earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale). To qualify for the honors list, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a grade point average of 3.0 to 3.49.
