GALESBURG — Both Carl Sandburg College basketball teams will open their respective Region IV tournaments Thursday on the road.
 

The Sandburg men’s team will begin the defense of its Region IV tournament title in the quarterfinals at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at third-seeded Lake County (20-10). The sixth-seeded Chargers (15-15) also opened last year’s tournament on the road against the Lancers, winning that first-round game 80-73.
