FREEPORT—The Carl Sandburg College softball team went 3-1 at the Highland East-West tournament on Saturday and Sunday. The Chargers beat Muscatine (Iowa) 1-0 and Moraine Valley 2-0 on Saturday. They then lost 6-3 to Elgin on Sunday before rebounding to beat the Spartans 5-3 to close the tournament.

GALESBURG—Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin High School senior Ryan Hickman has signed to play next season for the Carl Sandburg College baseball team.

GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College men’s golf team’s Arrowhead Conference match scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today at Illinois Valley has been postponed because of unplayable conditions and rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. April 19 at Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Club in LaSalle.
The Chargers’ next scheduled event is an Arrowhead match hosted by Sandburg at 1:30 p.m. April 18 at Lake Bracken Country Club.

GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College softball team’s Arrowhead Conference doubleheader scheduled for 3 p.m. today at Highland has been postponed because of inclement weather and rescheduled for 3 p.m. April 22.
The Chargers are scheduled to play in the Highland East/West tournament Saturday and Sunday in Freeport. Sandburg has won five straight games and 11 of its last 14.
