GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team ended its season with a 71-67 loss to Waubonsee in the Region IV tournament quarterfinals Thursday.
 

The Chargers (9-19) led 53-43 with 13 minutes left before Waubonsee went on a 13-0 run over the next 6:00 to take the lead. Sandburg had two opportunities to tie or take the lead in the final :19 but turned it over on both occasions.

The women’s game will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, followed by the men’s game at 4 p.m. The contests originally were scheduled for 5:30 and 7:30 p.m., respectively.
