After several weeks of analysis and writing, Kaylee Moseley’s hard work paid off. The first-year Carl Sandburg College student had finished her first major research project.

GALESBURG—Carl Sandburg College student Joel Kouakou has been awarded a $250 scholarship from the Illinois Community College Student Activities Association.

GALESBURG—Beginning with the 2013 spring semester, Carl Sandburg College will offer Saturday classes for the first time.

 

The four eight-week courses are designed as blended classes, meaning they’ll combine online work and study over the week on the student’s own time followed by a classroom period on Saturdays. The in-person classes will last an hour and 15 minutes.

GALESBURG—Ken Grodjesk knew at a young age that he was destined to be a teacher.

 

“I was called to it. It’s something I knew even as a kid. I’ve done a lot of things, but I always knew I was going to teach,” Grodjesk said. “I taught in scouts and worked for the recreation department — that involved teaching. I guess I was always teaching something.”

 

His passion has been preparing others. Now Grodjesk is preparing for his next chapter.
