CRYSTAL LAKE—The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team picked up its third straight victory with a 52-33 win at McHenry County (2-10) on Tuesday.

GALESBURG—Every student in the most recent class of the Carl Sandburg College therapeutic massage program recently passed on their first attempt the certification exam assessed by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards.
 

The FSMTB’s Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination is recognized by 35 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Each student is now certified to take the licensure exam for each of those locations....

GALESBURG—Every student in the most recent class of Carl Sandburg College’s nuclear medicine technology program recently passed the certification exam assessed by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
 

The one-hour, 55-minute test includes 90 multiple-choice questions. Students are tested in radiation safety, instrumentation, clinical procedures and radiopharmacy. The NMTCB exam is recognized by 25 states, including Illinois and Iowa....

GALESBURG—Beginning with the 2013 spring semester, Carl Sandburg College will offer Saturday classes for the first time.

GALESBURG—Ken Grodjesk knew at a young age that he was destined to be a teacher.

 

“I was called to it. It’s something I knew even as a kid. I’ve done a lot of things, but I always knew I was going to teach,” Grodjesk said. “I taught in scouts and worked for the recreation department — that involved teaching. I guess I was always teaching something.”

 

His passion has been preparing others. Now Grodjesk is preparing for his next chapter.
