GALESBURG—Ashlynn Hawotte of Sherrard High School has signed to play next season for the Carl Sandburg College softball team.
Hawotte, a 5-foot-7 pitcher, was part of a Tigers team that finished 29-7 and placed fourth in the Class 2A state tournament last season. She finished 2-0 with a 2.21 ERA in 15 games as a junior and was named MVP at the ASA state tournament in Mattoon last summer.

GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College men’s golf team’s Arrowhead Conference match hosted by Highland that was scheduled for this afternoon has been postponed because of unplayable conditions. It has been rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. May 7 at Park Hills Golf Course in Freeport.
