Scholarship Overview

Sandburg students have multiple opportunities to help pay college expenses.  We encourage you to check out the scholarship opportunities outlined below.

 

Foundation Scholarships

Thanks to our generous donors, Carl Sandburg College Foundation is able to award over $100,000 each year in scholarship dollars to Sandburg students. High school, adult learners and returning students - everyone is eligible to apply.   Apply between October 1 and March 15 for the upcoming year.   All students should apply. Galesburg Promise

Provides tuition assistance funding to students attending school in Galesburg District 205, Galesburg Christian School, Costa and homeschools with documentation.   Apply between October 1 and March 15 for the upcoming year.  Additional restrictions apply. Scholarship Information

 

Athletic Scholarships 

Athletic Grants are available to students with exceptional talent in athletics. Students may receive a grant waiving tuition for up to 18 credit hours per semester. Scholarship Information

 

Talent Scholarships

Talent Grants are available to students with exceptional talent in the areas of academic achievement, creative writing, music, journalism, theatre, art, or athletics. Students may receive a grant waiving tuition  for up to 18 credit hours per semester. Recipients are selected by a committee from the Student Services Division. Scholarship Information

 

Presidential Scholarships 

Presidential Scholarships are available to students based on academic excellence.  Awards are based on ACT/SAT scores and high school GPA.  Application period is October 1 to March 15. Scholarship Information

 

Study Abroad 

Pell Grant recipients are eligible for summer study scholarships of up to $3,000 and semester study scholarships of up to $5,000.  In addition, all Sandburg students are eligible for $500 scholarships offered through Sandburg and ICISP. WYSE Academic Challenge Talent Grant

Academic Scholarships are offered to Area high schools will take part in the Worldwide Youth in Science & Engineering (WYSE) Academic Challenge.  Each high school that enters a team of at least six students will receive a talent scholarship — a full-tuition scholarship for a full-time student at Sandburg

 

Dual Credit Success Scholarships

Offered to students who participated in Dual Credit during high school.  The college selects and awards these students to promote enrollment following high school.  Awards are $1500 per year for full time enrollment. 

  

Discover Scholarships 

Offered to non-traditional students who enroll in academic programs selected by the college.  These scholarships provide $1500 to selected students to pay toward tuition and fees.  Application period is ??? To ???.
