Sandburg students enrolled in study-abroad courses, approved for credit in their program of study, are considered enrolled at Carl Sandburg College and are eligible to receive financial aid. Federal Pell grants, State of Illinois Map Grants, scholarships and student loans can provide funds to help pay for studying abroad. Eligibility for funds is determined on an individual basis. Begin the application process by filing the FAFSA® (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as early as possible. Students studying abroad should designate a family member as a power of attorney to assist with financial aid processing while abroad.

  • Students in the study-abroad program pay program fees rather than tuition; therefore, Promise Funding will not be available for study-abroad enrollment.
  • For more details on the scholarships listed below and how to apply for them, email our study abroad coordinator or call 309.341.5317.
  • Make an appointment with the director of financial aid early in the planning process to discuss costs, financial aid available and payment deadlines.
