To be a successful psychologist, it is necessary that the individual be, not only curious about human beings, but capable of, and enthusiastic about thinking scientifically. This requires the individual to be passionate about asking questions and thinking critically, thus making it possible to identify patterns of behavior. Once patterns have been identified, you must be creative enough to develop theories that demonstrate an understanding of the patterns and ways to influence that behavior, all the while demonstrating compassion and empathy for the people that you interact with in your profession.
