Associate in Science

The focus of freshman and sophomore years at most colleges or universities is on completing the general education requirements. These years are also an opportunity for students to explore many different subjects before deciding on a major.

Sandburg offers an Associate in Science degree for students who are interested in transferring to complete a bachelor's degree in a variety of majors. Because Sandburg has individual learning as its number one priority, we offer student-centered classes, faculty, and programs that provide the academic skills needed for successful transfer to other institutions.

All Sandburg students will work with an assigned academic advisor to determine the degree path and to establish courses needed for transfer.

Areas of Concentration

Sandburg offers areas of concentration to assist the student in getting a jump start on courses for their intended major. Please contact your intended transfer school to determine the specific requirements for your major. Sandburg cannot determine what classes will be accepted at your transfer institution. Your academic advisor can assist you with this process.

The Associate in Science degree requires additional math and science courses that might not be necessary for all majors. Although the following areas of concentration align with math, science, and technology, Sandburg developed the concentrations based on the Associate in Arts degree which aligns with general education requirements. Please speak with your academic advisor for more information regarding transferring these concentrations.

Associate in Science with an Agriculture Concentration

Associate in Arts with a Chemistry Concentration

Associate of Arts with an Information & Communication Technology Concentration

Associate in Arts with a Mathematics Concentration
