How do I find the library's databases/online resources?
There are several ways to access our database list. The video below provides two ways to find it. You may also bookmark the library's A-Z Database List for quick easy access.
How do I find a book?
Visit our online catalog to browse our print and electronic book collections. See our Catalogs & Interlibrary Loan page for a brief walk through of how to search the catalog to find items in our physical library. For assistance with ebooks, see our eBooks LibGuide. For general questions and assistance, please reach out to library staff at library@sandburg.edu or 309.341.5257.
How do I find and request books that our library does not own?
To request items in the catalog, log in with your Sandburg e-mail and password, just as you would log in to your mySandburg portal. Watch the video below for a full tutorial on I-Share requesting.
How do I use the library's online catalog?

How do I get help with research if I am not able to come to campus?
Students can schedule virtual appointments with the Librarian during regular library hours by contacting Marla Turgeon at mturgeon@sandburg.edu. They can also submit questions to the Librarian outside of library hours via the same contact information or through our Ask a Librarian form.

How do I use wireless printing?
- Login to mySandburg
- Scroll to Wireless Printing on the bottom right
- Click Print Your Document
- Enter your Sandburg username and password, then click Login
- Click Print
- Upload your saved file. Your file must be saved to your computer somewhere for the program to be able to find it.
- Once the document loads, SELECT A PRINTER **Select based on the room. If not, your document will automatically go to room A051**
- Library printers are TechHelp1 Prt, TechHelp2 Prt, TechHelp Color Prt
- Click Finish (Click back arrow if you need to make changes before printing)
- Click Print Now
How do I schedule time in the One Button Studio?
You can schedule a One Button Studio appointment here. For questions about using the One Button Studio on Main Campus, visit the FTLC in room E 233A. For questions about the Branch Campus One Button Studio, ask in the library, Room 4.
How do I get a book, video, or article that Sandburg Library or I-Share don't have?
Please contact ill@sandburg.edu to place a request. Staff will get back with you in 1-2 business days. You will need to provide the following information.
For articles:
- Journal title
- Article title
- Journal date (day, month, year, etc.)
- Journal volume and issue number
- Your contact information
For books:
- Book title
- Author
- Edition, if applicable
- Your contact information
For DVDs/Blu-Rays:
- Title
- Release Date
How do I get the textbooks I need for class?
To rent or buy textbooks, you need to visit the bookstore, located in B building. Some instructors place copies of their course textbooks on reserve in the library. If your instructor chooses to do this, you can borrow these items from the library's main desk. Checkout lengths are set by the instructor; most reserve items checkout for 4 hours of in-library use.
