Borrowing Materials from Other Libraries
The Carl Sandburg College Library offers two ways to borrow materials from other libraries, I-Share and OCLC through ill@sandburg.edu. To choose the best method of delivery, please read about the choices below.
Books
The fastest method to borrow books from other libraries is the I-Share system. Materials arrive, on average, in 2-4 business days.
Search the Sandburg Library Catalog first before requesting materials. If the item is not there, change the search option to “All I-Share Libraries”
Once you’ve found your title, login to your I-Share account. (Show me how!)
Click the ‘Request 1st Available’ tab & Request button
If a book is not available in the I-Share catalog, place a request on OCLC through contacting ill@sandburg.edu. (Volumes from a multi-volume set are best requested from OCLC.)
Articles
Look up the journal title first in Ebsco or other Databases.
Articles from journals and newspapers that Sandburg does not have a subscription to must be requested through OCLC by contacting ill@sandburg.edu. Materials arrive, on average, in 1-3 business days.
