Find Books & More

Use the Carl Sandburg College Library catalog to find out if a book, ebook, audiobook, DVD, or other types of items are in one of the libraries at Sandburg (Galesburg and Carthage locations are included). Please contact library staff at or 309.341.5257 if you have any questions.

When searching the new catalog, several "article" and "journal" options will show up in the results. Some links to these items might not work. If you need to report one of these links or have any questions, please contact Rebecca Eaton at or 309.341.5290.

If you do not find the items you need in the Sandburg Library catalog, or if you cannot determine the location of the item, please ask a library staff member for assistance. You may repeat the search on I-Share to search from 89 other Illinois libraries.

The Sandburg Library participates in state and national interlibrary loan systems, which makes obtaining materials from other libraries possible. Consult a staff member with questions about any aspect of the interlibrary borrowing service.

The I-Share catalog includes the resources of 89 Illinois libraries that belong to CARLI. Several I-Share institutions remain closed for the fall and possibly spring semesters due to COVID-19. This means resource sharing may be limited, so please plan accordingly.

To request or renew items, log in with your Sandburg e-mail and password, just as you would log in to your mySandburg portal. Watch the video below for a full tutorial on I-Share requesting.

The Carl Sandburg College Library offers two ways to borrow materials from other libraries, I-Share and OCLC through To choose the best method of delivery, please read about the choices below.

Check back soon for our new catalog's interlibrary loan tutorial! Please note that while interlibrary loan services have resumed, due to COVID-19, deliveries only occur Tuesdays and Thursdays as opposed to our usual M-F schedule. Several I-Share libraries remain closed for the remainder of the year and potentially into the Spring 2021 term. In addition, our delivery service issued a statement that beginning Monday, August 31st, all items will be quarantined for 7 days prior to being touched by staff handling delivery materials. Because of these factors, students should expect delays in delivery times and plan accordingly if they have a research project due.

Students are strongly encouraged to use Sandburg Library's eBooks and online journals in lieu of physical material availability during the pandemic. For assistance, contact or see our eBooks and Searching Scholarly Databases LibGuides.

If you need assistance with ILL before the new tutorial is posted, please contact to place a request. You will need to provide the following information:

  • Book title
  • Author
  • Edition, if applicable
  • Your contact information

If a book is not available in the I-Share catalog, place a request through OCLC by contacting (Volumes from a multi-volume set are best requested from OCLC.)

Look up the journal title first in EBSCO or other Databases.

Articles from journals and newspapers that Sandburg does not have a subscription to must be requested on OCLC through contacting Materials arrive, on average, in 1-3 business days. COVID-19 might affect delivery time.
