Computing skills and a knowledge of information security have become an essential part of every career path. If you are looking for a future career or thinking about a career change, you should consider a rewarding career in information technology or cyber security. This field of study is designed to provide a solid foundation for managing organizations’ network operations and providing technical assistance and cyber security solutions.

By completing our Cyber Security Specialist Certificate, you are able to earn up to five (5) stackable certificates. Students begin by completing the Computer Support Associate and proceed to earn the Computer Technician, Network Security Associate, Cisco Network Security Associate and the Cyber Security Specialist.

Embedded in these five certificates are six of our ten Information and Communication Technology (ICT) courses accepted by multiple state universities as transfer credit. Students completing this degree are also prepared to take the industry-based certifications such as Cisco, A+ Certification, CompTIA Security and a wide range of other Microsoft certifications.

Dual credit courses in this program are available so that you can start the program while in high school.

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) courses are available online or in a multiple-modality format. Multiple-modality courses provide students with the option to sit in a traditional classroom, attend online or attend a scheduled class using Skype or a telepresence robot.

  • Complete an application for admission and, if desired, apply for financial aid.
  • Send an official high school transcript or GED score report to the Admissions and Records Office.
  • Complete the placement exam.
  • Meet with an advisor/counselor to select classes and complete the registration process.

For credit toward degree requirements, all ICT courses must have been completed during the five school years preceding conference of the degree or must have the approval of the Dean of Career, Technical, and Health Education Programs or Program Coordinator.

*NOTE: The Cyber Security Specialist certificate is conferred upon successful completion of the required 60 hours. This certificate is stackable which means students earn the Computer Support Associate certificate, the Computer Technician certificate, the Network Security Associate certificate, and the CISCO Network Security Associate certificate by completing the first 44 hours of this certificate.
