Sandburg allows students to add their name to a waiting list for courses that are full. This allows the student to be notified through their Sandburg email account if a seat in the class opens up. When a student meets or speaks with their advisor during the registration appointment, the advisor will discuss the benefits of the wait list. The advisor or student may add their name to a wait list through the registration process.
When a student is notified through their Sandburg email account that a seat has opened up, the student will have only 24 hours to add the class. The notification email will arrive shortly after midnight and not throughout the day. It is highly recommended to check email first thing in the morning. The student can either add the class through their mySandburg account or they must call the advising office to be added.
If the student misses their time allotted to add the class, then the next student on the list is notified and offered the seat. It is highly recommended to call Student Services at 309.341.5237 between 8am – 5pm to ensure being enrolled. If a student misses the 24 hour deadline, the next student on the waitlist is notified and offered the seat. Students that miss the deadline must request to have their name added to the end of the wait list.
