Federal Work Study

Work Study

Federal Work Study (FWS)

This program allows students to work on campus and earn funds to help meet educational costs. Students can earn up to the amount shown on the award notification. Students are paid in a biweekly paycheck for hours actually worked. Minimum enrollment is six credit hours per semester.

If you are awarded FWS and wish to apply for a job, you will need to obtain and complete a work study application from the Financial Aid Office and return it to the Coordinator of Career Resources in Room B08. The Career Resources Office will refer your application when positions become available in any departments that you specify. Employment is available on the Galesburg and Carthage campuses.

A job is not guaranteed, and you are not guaranteed to earn your entire award. You may contact the Carl Sandburg College Career Resources Office at 309.341.5246 or tengstrom@sandburg.edu
