Donation boxes are set up in the TRIO SSS office (Room E136) and the information desks in Building D and the Student Center on the Main Campus in Galesburg. These are items on the Humane Society’s wish list:
— Purina dog and cat chow
— Dog and cat flea collars
— Paper towels
— Copy paper/office supplies
—Clumping kitty litter
— Large leaf/garbage bags
— Gently used blankets, towels and rugs
The TRIO SSS program is funded by a grant through the U.S. Department of Education and helps students in their pursuit of a bachelor’s degree by providing academic and advising assistance and encouraging student development during their time at Sandburg. TRIO participants must be a first-generation college student, meet income eligibility guidelines and be enrolled in a university studies program with the goal of transferring to a college or university to obtain a bachelor’s degree.
