CRYSTAL LAKE—The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team picked up its third straight victory with a 52-33 win at McHenry County (2-10) on Tuesday.
Freshman forward Marysa Remick (ROWVA) scored a team-best 13 points and went 6 for 6 from the free-throw line as the Chargers (5-6) won for the fourth time in five games. Freshman forward Destini Bollinger (Astoria) added 11 points for Sandburg, which led 23-17 at halftime.
The 33 points were the fewest the Chargers have allowed in a game this season. Sandburg has given up an average of 41.2 points per game during its last five games and hasn’t allowed more than 50 points during that stretch.
“We left a lot of points out there, but we played pretty good defense for most of the night,” Chargers coach Mike Bailey said.
The Chargers’ next game is 5 p.m. Thursday at Elgin.
