CARTHAGE—Carl Sandburg College is seeking enthusiastic and creative instructors to teach classes for its Kids on Campus summer program June 2-6 at Illini West High School. This event attracts several students each year from across the College’s district and offers classes in a variety of subjects to children in grades K-6. Instructors are needed in all areas and are encouraged to submit proposals for classes they have an interest in teaching. Teaching credentials are not required, but expertise and enthusiasm are essential.

Instructor compensation is $20 per student per class, with $3 per student per class budgeted for supplies. Instructors will purchase supplies in advance and will be reimbursed approximately one week after the program. Scissors, markers, pencils and paintbrushes are provided. The target class size will be 5-12 students (unless otherwise noted), with three classes taught in the morning and two in the afternoon.

Proposals may be submitted by 4 p.m. Feb. 21 and are considered on a first-come basis. Instructors who submit proposals will receive responses on or before March 14. Background checks also are required for first-time KOC instructors. Course proposal forms are available at www.sandburg.edu/communityed/kids-campus. Forms also are available at the Sandburg Branch Campus in Carthage and the Sandburg Extension Center in Bushnell.
