GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team had three players score in double figures as it beat Illinois Valley 68-51 on Tuesday night at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.
The Chargers (10-10, 3-4) picked up their second straight Arrowhead Conference Victory thanks to a balanced attack. Sandburg led 37-26 at halftime and had nine players in the scoring column. Sophomore forward Marysa Remick (Victoria, Ill./ROWVA) led all players with 17 points, and sophomore forward Destini Bollinger (Astoria, Ill./Astoria) added 16 points for Sandburg. Freshman forward Julia Isenhour (Clinton, Iowa/Prince of Peace) chipped in 11 points for Sandburg.
Jessica Jesson had 15 points for the Eagles (9-12, 2-5), who split the season series with the Chargers.
“Tonight was one of our better efforts of the season,” Sandburg coach Mike Bailey said. “We’ve played pretty well the last two games, so hopefully we’re starting to put things together at the right time.”
The Chargers will look to push their winning streak to three games when they play at Black Hawk at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
