GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team rallied from a double-digit deficit to take a late lead, but John Wood came back to hand the Chargers a 64-62 nonconference loss on Friday afternoon at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.

GALESBURG—Carl Sandburg College has released the names of students who qualified for the dean’s list and honors list for the 2013 fall semester.
 

To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours) and earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale). To qualify for the honors list, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a grade point average of 3.0 to 3.49.

GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College Literacy Coalition is seeking volunteers for tutoring. Basic volunteer training sessions will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Jan. 12, 19 and 26 in Room 103 of George Davis Hall on the campus of Knox College.

GALESBURG—Carl Sandburg College men’s soccer player Lawson Crider has been named to the first team of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire Men’s Junior College Division I All-America and All-North Region teams, the first time any Sandburg player has received either honor.

GALESBURG—Students in the Carl Sandburg College cosmetology program raised $500 for tornado victims during a cut-a-thon Dec. 7 at the Annex in downtown Galesburg, bringing the College’s total fundraising efforts to more than $2,500.
