GALESBURG—Rushville-Industry High School senior Kattie Haywood has signed to play next season for the Carl Sandburg College volleyball team.

 

Haywood, a 5-foot-8 middle hitter/outside hitter, had 124 kills, 151 digs, 37 aces and 16 blocks for the Rockets this past season. She also was an all-Prairieland Conference honorable mention selection.

GALESBURG—Sophomore guard Seth Wickert (Macomb, Ill./Macomb) scored a season-high 25 points and was one of five Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball players to reach double figures as the Chargers beat Monmouth College JV 80-72 on Monday night at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.

MONMOUTH—The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team snapped a five-game losing streak with a 63-54 victory at Monmouth JV on Monday.

 

Sophomore guard Makenzie Frank (Knoxville) led the Chargers with 15 points, freshman forward Lexa Mahr (Macomb) added 13 and freshman forward Marysa Remick (ROWVA) scored 10 for the Chargers (6-11).

GALESBURG—Carl Sandburg College has released the names of students who qualified for the dean’s list and honors list for the 2012 fall semester.

 

To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours) and earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale). To qualify for the honors list, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a grade point average of 3.0 to 3.49.
