MOLINE—The Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team couldn’t hold on to a three-point lead at halftime and had its five-game winning streak snapped with a 69-62 loss on Tuesday at Black Hawk in an Arrowhead Conference game.

MOLINE—The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team dropped an Arrowhead Conference game 69-63 at Black Hawk on Tuesday.

 

The teams went into halftime tied 26-26. Freshman guard Jordyn Chasteen (Canton) had a team-leading 15 points for the Chargers (7-13, 1-5) and was the only Sandburg player to reach double figures.

GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team nearly cracked the top 20 in the latest NJCAA Division II poll, which was released Tuesday.

 

The Chargers (15-6, 4-1) finished three points away from tying Phoenix for 20th in the rankings. Sandburg’s eight points matched Waubonsee for the most among other schools receiving votes. This is the first time this season the Chargers have garnered votes.
