GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College Literacy Coalition is seeking volunteer tutors. Basic volunteer training sessions will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. April 7, 14 and 21 in Room 103 of George Davis Hall on the campus of Knox College.

MONMOUTH—The Carl Sandburg College men’s golf team opened its spring season with a fifth-place finish at the Fighting Scots Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Gibson Woods Golf Course.

 

The Chargers shot 307 and were in fifth place after Friday’s opening round and remained there after shooting 312 on Saturday for a 619 total in the nine-team tournament. Illinois Wesleyan won the event after totaling a 5-over-par 573.
