GALESBURG—For the first time ever, Carl Sandburg College will have live streams available for its GED Commencement and College Commencement ceremonies, which will take place May 14 and May 15, respectively.
 

These streams will be available to anyone for free, and they will be archived on the College’s YouTube page, www.youtube.com/carlsandburgcollege, so they can be viewed after the ceremonies as well.

ELGIN—The Carl Sandburg College baseball team saw its season come to an end with a pair of losses in the Region IV sectional tournament Saturday at Elgin.

GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College men’s golf team ended its regular season by winning the final Arrowhead Conference meet of the spring, which was hosted by the Chargers on Tuesday at Lake Bracken Country Club.

GALESBURG—Trevor Lay of Wethersfield High School has signed to play next season for the Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team.
 

A 5-foot-10 guard, Lay joins the Chargers following a decorated career with the Flying Geese. GALESBURG—Caleb Newell of United High School has signed to play next season for the Carl Sandburg College men’s golf team.
 

While with the Red Storm, Newell was a three-time Class 1A sectional qualifier and two-time All-Lincoln Trail Conference honoree. This past fall, Newell was a Class 1A regional medalist, and he was the medalist at the United Open.

GALESBURG— Carl Sandburg College and Knox College have announced a dual admission program for students who intend to pursue a bachelor’s degree at Knox upon completing an associate degree at Sandburg.
 

The agreement was signed by Sandburg President Lori Sundberg and Knox President Teresa Amott at a news conference Monday morning at Sandburg and will go into effect with students applying for enrollment at Knox in the fall of 2015.

Also, the Chargers’ game scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Wednesday against Knox at the William “Bill” Hungate Baseball/Softball Complex has been canceled and won’t be rescheduled.
