GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College men’s golf team came away with a two-shot victory in an Arrowhead Conference match it hosted Tuesday at Lake Bracken Country Club.

OGLESBY—The Carl Sandburg College baseball team had a big day at the plate in an Arrowhead Conference doubleheader sweep of Illinois Valley on Tuesday. The Chargers blew out the Eagles 21-9 in the opener and held on for an 8-7 win in Game 2 to even their league record.

GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College softball team saw its season come to an end with a pair of losses to Waubonsee in the opening round of the Region IV tournament Tuesday at the William “Bill” Hungate Baseball/Softball Complex.

GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College softball team went 3-1 during a pair of nonconference doubleheaders Friday and Saturday. The Chargers split two games at Augustana JV on Friday before sweeping Waubonsee on Saturday at the William “Bill” Hungate Baseball/Softball Complex.

GALESBURG—The Carl Sandburg College softball team came in tied for 20th in the latest NJCAA Division II rankings, which were released Wednesday. GALESBURG—Ashlynn Hawotte of Sherrard High School has signed to play next season for the Carl Sandburg College softball team.
Hawotte, a 5-foot-7 pitcher, was part of a Tigers team that finished 29-7 and placed fourth in the Class 2A state tournament last season. She finished 2-0 with a 2.21 ERA in 15 games as a junior and was named MVP at the ASA state tournament in Mattoon last summer.
