Admission Requirements for Computed Tomography
(Advanced Certificate)

 

Conditional Admission
This one-semester program prepares radiographers to perform CT (computed tomography) procedures in hospitals and imaging centers. This curriculum covers all subjects identified in the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists’ content specifications for the Examination in Computed Tomography. CT is an imaging modality that combines the use of x-rays and computer technology. Cross-sectional images of the body are produced by an x-ray beam and an array of detectors that encircle the patient. These images can be reconstructed in multiple planes to display anatomical structures not otherwise visible on conventional radiographs.

Admission Requirements:

  1. Complete a general application for admission to the College
  2. Submit official transcripts from high school and all post-secondary educational institutions.
  3. Graduate from an ARRT approved radiography program with a 2.5 or higher cumulative G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale.
  4. Provide evidence of active registration with the A.R.R.T or registry eligible status.
  5. Complete the HOBET V test.
    • Reading- 73% or higher
    • Math- 60% or higher
    • Science- 39% or higher
    • English- 50% or higher
    • Total Adjusted Score- 54% or higher
  6. Complete an application for the Computed Tomography program. (All program applications are available through the imaging counselor.)

 

Technologists employed in CT may seek enrollment in the online classroom-only portions of the program, if desired. Deadline for submission of application forms and admission materials is June 15 for the June review. Contact the Program Coordinator for questions.
