Marketing at Sandburg
The Marketing and Public Relations Office is the primary contact for the media. The office writes all press releases and news advisories for the College and provides multimedia and creative services.
The Marketing and PR Office is also responsible for ensuring the College’s marketing materials convey a constructive and consistent brand image.
The Marketing and PR Office has earned international, national and local recognition for the College with successful entries in the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) and the Annual Educational Advertising Awards presented by the Higher Education Marketing Report. The Marketing and PR Office has won the coveted Gold Paragon Award from NCMPR five times. This award is NCMPR’s recognition of outstanding achievement in communications at community and technical colleges. It is the only national competition of its kind that exclusively honors excellence among marketing and public relation professionals at two-year colleges. Winners hail from large, multi-campus districts as well as small institutions, from large staffs with healthy budgets and from one-person shops with limited resources. The Educational Advertising Awards is an international contest between 2- and 4-year colleges and universities, private and public. Sandburg was one out of 11 Illinois community colleges, to be recognized in this international awards contest. The 3,000 entries were from over 1,000 schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries.
